How it works
Say you just finished Cyberpunk 2077.
In it you level up a character and shoot in first person, so Next Up looks for games that keep those and add something new. One card from that list:
Cloudpunk
What carries over
- Keeps: level up a character
- Doesn’t keep: shoot in first person
What changes
New here: drive, a female lead
Why you’d like it
Cloudpunk shares Cyberpunk 2077’s neon cyberpunk city setting, but you spend one night as a delivery driver flying a hover car.
In Shotgun Cop Man you: make exact jumps, shoot, play arcade-style
This game has fewer Steam reviews, so AI read each suggestion and took off the clear misses. It can still be wrong.
976 of 20,285 games share what you do. These 10 fit best after an AI check.
Your party Games like Shotgun Cop Man

- Doesn’t keep: play arcade-style
New here: play with physics, a hard challenge
Why you’d like it: Like Shotgun Cop Man’s blast-powered movement, Splodey drops the jump button and has you launch yourself with potion explosions instead.
I Wanna Maker
See on Steam: I Wanna Maker (opens in a new tab)- Keeps: make exact jumps
- Doesn’t keep: shoot
- Keeps: play arcade-style
New here: a character you design, a hard challenge
Why you’d like it: Exact jumps carry over, and I Wanna Maker adds a level editor and online sharing, like Shotgun Cop Man’s user-generated levels.
Below The Ocean
See on Steam: Below The Ocean (opens in a new tab)- Keeps: make exact jumps
- Doesn’t keep: shoot
- Doesn’t keep: play arcade-style
New here: solve jumping puzzles, life underwater
Why you’d like it: Like Shotgun Cop Man it is a 2D precision platformer, but you swing on an oxygen tether through underwater puzzle levels.

How this list was made
976 of 20,285 games share what you do. These 10 fit best after an AI check.
What gets in
A game is what you do in it, so a pick has to share what players say you do most. If fewer than ten games earn a place, the list stays short.
Lists use the tags Steam players vote on, plus each game’s Steam store page.
Less played means far fewer Steam reviews than the game you finished. Mixed reviews means 60 to 69% of its Steam reviews are positive.
What only changes the order
A shared setting, look or popularity can move a game up or down, but it can’t put a game on the list by itself. Being set in space, for example, isn’t enough: a pick has to keep something you do.
What isn’t known
No players have tested this. Newer and smaller games have less data.
